"Demián Flores (Juchitán, Oaxaca, 1971) has supported his artistic work in graphic production, conceived as detonator, binder and builder of meaning. Initially interested in the visual proposals of the Taller de Gráfica Popular (TGP), in the techniques and materials used by the Grupo Suma (in his college years he was a pupil of Mario Rangel Faz and an assistant Jesús Martínez), marked by socio-political junctures such as the emergence of Coalición Obrera, Campesina, Estudiantil del lstmo (COCEI), the Asamblea Popular de los Pueblos de Oaxaca (APPO) and the earthquake that struck Juchitlán in 2017, Flores resorts to the graph as a systematic means of exploration and action."
